Alpine Climbing & Mountaineering Guided Trips  -- CatskillsAdirondacks Mount Washington & the Presidential Range | North Cascades | Mount Rainier | Ecuador | New Guinea

Mount Rainier National Park, WA

Alpine Endeavors has become a recipient for another special use permit for Mount Rainier! Join us for a memorable climb on an incredible mountain.

Our route of choice is to summit Mt Rainier via the Emmons Glacier. The Emmons Glacier is a longer, more physical route than the popular regular route up to the summit. It involves detailed navigation up the huge glacier passing deep crevasses along the way - on a beautiful side of the mountain. It is an excellent route and provides climbers with a great mountaineering experience.

A rough itinerary would be:

Day 0 Arrive in Seattle - meet and review gear, questions etc.
Day 1 Drive to Mount Rainier N.P., hike into Glacier Basin Campsite
Day 2 Climb up to Emmons Flats
Day 3 Glacier skills review, camp at Emmons Flats
Day 4 Summit attempt in early morning
Day 5 Second summit attempt if needed, hike out, drive to Seattle
Day 6  Depart

Trip is open for all ability levels to a total of three guests and provides 1 - 2 guides.. For those with no previous glacier experience, we require a 2 - 3 day training session that we can do the week before in the North Cascades National Park. We will do a one-day glacier skills and crevasse rescue refresher on the glaciers as well as a pre-trip meeting and training day in the Shawangunks sometime prior to our trip.
